MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Ishpeming Police have arrested a Marquette County man for allowing minors to consume alcohol at his apartment, which was the scene of a fire earlier this week. 48 yr old Glenn Scott Patron of Ishpeming was arrested after police investigated the fire at his apartment at 701 W. Empire Street.
Ishpeming firefighters were called to his apartment around 1:00 a.m. last Tuesday. Patron and 2 other residents of the apartment building were treated for possible smoke inhalation. An investigation by the Ishpeming Police found Patron was drinking with 2 other people in his apartment who were under 21 years of age when the fire broke out.
Patron was charged with 1 count of allowing drug or alcohol consumption by minors on his premises and was arraigned in the 96th District Court. He remains lodged at the Marquette County Jail and a pre-trial conference is scheduled for August 28-th in the Ishpeming District Court.
The charge is a misdemeanor punishable by up to 30 days and or a $1000 fine.
