Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Upper Michigan Republican State Representative Ed McBroom says both fellow Representatives Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat should resign.

McBroom, of Vulcan, says the two have breached the public’s trust by their recent actions and he’s not sure how either could rebound from that.

Courser admits he and Gamrat, who are both married with families, had an affair.

Courser tried to cover up the affair by having someone send out an email claiming he had a drug problem and paid to have sex with a gay prostitue behind a Lansing nightclub.

He says he also used the email to draw out an alleged blackmailer.

House Republican Leader Kevin Cotter calls the latter claim ridiculous.

McBroom says stepping down is the best course of action for both.
