Accident on Presque Isle that injured a 6 year-old boy

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette City Police are looking for the public’s help in their investigation into an accident at Presque Isle yesterday evening that injured a 6-year-old boy.

Police say the boy and his father were bicycling around the park near Sunset Point and were heading toward the old deer cage area when a blue and white colored SUV approached them heading the wrong way down the one way drive.

As the father and son pulled off to the lake side of the drive, the boy’s bike hit some brush causing him to leave the roadway and go over a 20-foot cliff.  He landed on the shoreline below about three feet from the water.  The boy sustained a cut on his wrist and complained of some back pain and was taken to MGH for treatment.

Police are searching for the blue and white SUV and it’s driver and if you have any information related to this incident, please call Marquette City Police at 228-0400.
