Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Authorities responded to the Picnic Rocks area in the City of Marquette for a paddle boarder in distress just before 6:00 o’clock yesterday evening.

Two Marquette Lifeguards on a jet ski where deployed out to the paddle boarder.

The lifeguards stayed with the person until Coast Guard personnel arrived and brought the paddle boarder onto shore.

The Marquette City Fire Department is reminding kayakers and paddle boarders that they need to know their skill level and limitations before recreating on Lake Superior.
