Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The move of all services and operations by UP Health System from their current Marquette location to the new hospital is continuing as the opening day draws near.

Carol Holman, UPHS-Marquette Director of Food & Nutrition, joined the Sunny Morning Show today to talk about the transition of food services into the new location and what it will mean for dining options.

Holman said the majority of food preparation and serving equipment will be brand new, and the state-of-the-art kitchens will expand what the hospital will be able to create and serve to patients, staff and hospital visitors.

She said the most exciting part for her and her staff is the opening of the “Bistro on Baraga” dining area at the new facility.

Holman explained that the Bistro is easily accessible for all off of the south entrance of the building, and will feature plenty of windows to allow for natural light to cover the eatery for those visiting to enjoy their new and varied meals.

Ribbon-cutting of the new UP Health System Marquette hospital on Baraga Avenue is set for Friday, May 5th at 11:00 a.m.
