Northern Michigan University Selected As Cyber Hub On State Cyber Range

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Governor Rick Snyder has announced Northern Michigan University in Marquette as one of two new cyber hubs in the state.

Snyder made the announcement this week at the 2018 North American Cyber Summit in Detroit.

Dave Nyberg, Director of Corporate Engagement at Northern Michigan University, joined the Sunny Morning Show today to share more information about the effort.

Nyberg said the cyber hub is the only one in the U.P., and serves as a catalyst for new-economy employment focusing on the next generation of cybersecurity protections.

He added that is also serves to train a workforce able to support cyber initiatives in many industries.

Nyberg said that the cyber hub at NMU is planned to open in the next six months.
