MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette General Health Systems recently announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Duke/LifePoint health systems for the Marquette-based hospital to be purchased by the partnership.
Gary Muller, MGHS President and CEO, joined the SUNNY Morning Show on Sunny 101.9 WKQS-fm to discuss the deal at length. Muller discussed the points of the agreement as well as what it’s status is at this time with the show’s hosts Walt Lindala and Mike Plourde.
Also covered were concern voiced by the nurse’s union about the proposed buyout and what the main differences of “non-profit” and “for profit” designations concerning hospitals and health care are.
