Bergman Discusses Diplomatic South Korean Trip And U.P. Federal Disaster Relief

U.S. Congressman Jack Bergman

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – 1st District U.S. Representative Jack Bergman was recently a member of a diplomatic Congressional trip to South Korea, and he called in to the Sunny Morning Show today to talk about it.

Bergman said due to the nature of negotiations and current state of affairs between the U.S. and the Koreas, he accepted the offer to be a part of the delegation and headed to South Korea on the morning of the July 5th.

He said the trip was full of meetings with South Korean government officials, Military officials, and U.S. and Korean diplomats and gave him an unique perspective about the relationship of the Korean Peninsula and the United States.

Bergman also talked about the recent letter sent to President Trump he co-signed with U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters in support of Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley’s request for a major disaster declaration for flood-affected areas in the U.P.
