Marquette Senior High School Student Pens Winning Essay in National Contest

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Students in the Transitions / Career Choices class at Marquette Senior High School recently submitted essays in a country-wide contest about how the course has impacted their lives and how they envision their future.

Out of thousands of entries, Elle Pearson’s essay from MSHS was selected as one of eleven finalists.

Elle and the program coordinator, Becky Simmons, stopped in this morning at the SUNNY Studios to discuss the winning essay and the competition with Mike Plourde.

The essay contest winner will earn for his or her school, an all-expense-paid visit and speaking appearance by Dain Blanton, Olympic gold medalist and Career Choices spokesperson. In addition, the winning author will be Dain’s VIP guest all day and will get to have lunch with him!
