Marquette Township Selects New Fire Chief And Awards Bid For Road Project

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette Township Board has selected a new Township Fire Chief and has awarded the contract for the firm to begin a long-term road reconstruction effort.

Township Supervisor Dennis Liimatta joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to discuss these developments and more about things in the works in the township.

Liimatta said the board unanimously named Ron DeMarse as the new Fire Chief who will bring 30 years of firefighting experience to the post.

He also talked about the awarding of a $2.4 million contract to Payne & Dolan to begin a road reconstructing project that will be working across the township.

Liimatta also shared updates about Lions Field and other activities and events coming up soon in the township over the next few months.
