Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The newly-formed Upper Peninsula Arts & Culture Alliance is holding their first official meeting this week in Marquette.
Tiina Harris, Arts & Culture Manager with the City of Marquette, joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to talk about what the alliance is all about.
Harris said it brings together stakeholders from around the U.P. to foster the prosperity of arts and culture across the 15 counties of Upper Michigan.
She added that the alliance grew out of an awareness that all of the groups across the U.P. that work in the creative fields have a better opportunity to grow and succeed if they work together for the common goals of increasing the visibility and viability of arts and cultural programs and projects.
The U.P. Arts & Culture Alliance is holding meetings all day Friday at Ampersand in downtown Marquette.
