Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Senator Tom Casperson called in to the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today for a legislative update.
The Escanaba Republican discussed Senate Bill 839, which he sponsored, that calls for a clarification of Department of Environmental Quality regulatory oversight of amendments to existing mining permits.
Casperson explained the bill and said it is part of a multi-bill package that been approved by the Senate Natural Resources Committee and now goes to the full Senate for consideration.
He also shared his thoughts on a somewhat controversial package of bills that was approved in the Senate last week that was created following the aftermath of the Larry Nassar sexual abuse scandal.
