Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center and the ACF Upper Michigan Culinarians Inc., are joining forces for a benefit dinner on Tuesday, May 12, featuring the cuisine of one of the Upper Peninsula’s largest ethnic groups.

Dan Truckey, Director of the Beumier Center, and Tony Tollefson of the Upper Michigan Culinarians, joined Walt Lindala today on the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike to talk about the event.

Truckey said “A French Canadian Dinner” will raise funds for student scholarships to attend Northern Michigan University’s hospitality management program and for the Beaumier Center’s public programming fund.

Tollefson said the dinner will feature six courses originating in Quebec, made by some of the Upper Peninsula’s best chefs.

There will be a cocktail hour at 6:30 p.m and the dinner will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Great Lakes Rooms of the University Center at NMU.

Truckey added that the Beaumier Center will be presenting the 2015 Upper Peninsula Folklife Awards at the dinner as well.
