Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Room at the Inn is hosting a fundraising event this Sunday at HOTPlate in downtown Marquette.
Doug Russell, Executive Director of Room at the Inn, joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike this week to invite listeners to reserve a plate to decorate on Sunday, April 19th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
Participants can reserve a plate for $250.00 by calling 227-9171 and then come out and paint it up.
The plate will then be displayed at the Room at the Inn Warming Center at 447 W. Washington in Marquette.
Russell explained the event will benefit Room at the Inn, which is run by an interfaith coalition of churches sharing the mission to provide support and shelter for the homeless in the Marquette area.
He added that the Warming Center provides a warm and friendly location for shelter guests to gather before heading out for the day.
