Physical Therapist Jeanette Tousignant with ACTIVE Physical Therapy

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio) – On our latest Active Physical Therapy Update, the discussion focused on concussions.

Jeanette Tousignant, Physical Therapist at Active Physical Therapy, joined Mike Plourde to talk about tips to recognize the signs and symptoms of a concussion and how they can happen.

She talked about how even minor collisions or falls can jostle the brain, resulting in a concussion.

Tousignant added that minor concussions may not always manifest themselves on x-rays or other detection methods and a person needs to pay attention to the symptoms.

Those symptoms can include light sensitivity, unsteadiness in walking or standing up and other balance issues.

She also talked about other emotional symptoms that come from the change in the chemical makeup of the brain caused by a concussion.
