Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The annual Rock the Socks campaign by Marquette Alternative High School is wrapping up today with a special event at tonight’s NMU Wildcat Hockey game.

Cindy DePetro and Nessa Rombola from MAHS joined Mike Plourde on the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to talk about the effort.

Rombola explained that the annual Rock the Socks campaign gathers socks for those in need, which are then distributed by the Marquette Alternative High School to community organizations and schools throughout Marquette County.

DePetro said for tonight’s NMU hockey game at the Berry Events Center on campus, fans are encouraged to bring new infant, youth or adult socks, and K-12 students can get into the game free by donating a pair of socks.

MAHS has also placed collection boxes at the NMU Athletics office, Marquette County high schools and other locations.
