Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Senator Tom Casperson says a measure addressing the so-called “dark stores” tax issue will get a hearing before the end of the year.

Casperson shared the latest information about the legislation when he joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today for a legislative update.

He says he was contacted directly by the chair of the Senate Finance Committee, downstate Harrison Township Republican Senator Jack Brandenburg, who assured him there will be a hearing before the current legislative session comes to a close.

Casperson says if the Senate does not pick up the bill, it will die and the entire process will have to start again.

The Escanaba Republican says since the measure passed in the state House, pressure to take action on the bill has been shifted over to the Senate.

Casperson also discussed some other legislation he is hoping to get voted on before the end of the session in mid-December.
