Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Detroit Red Wings hockey legend Mickey Redmond is throwing his full support behind the U.P. Beacon House Capital Campaign.

Redmond joined News Director Walt Lindala this week on the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike to talk about his personal relationship with the Beacon House.

He explained that shortly after he came to Marquette to assist in the annual Beacon House U.P. Celebrity Golf Classic a few years ago, his wife actually needed the services of Beacon House after a family member became ill and needed treatment in Marquette.

Redmond said it’s very important that the money get raised to build a new U.P. Beacon House facility adjacent to the new UP Health System-Marquette hospital because the services provided could be needed by anyone at any time.
