Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – In this latest NMU Wildcat Wednesday, we talk about the Northern Michigan University Educational Access Network.

Steve VandenAvond, NMU Vice President for Extended Learning and Community Engagement, joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike to share more information about this state-of-the-art, high speed educational broadband wireless network.

VandenAvond talked about the Educational Access Initiative and how Northern is reaching out to a series of distinct populations to give them wireless access to continuing education across the Upper Peninsula.

They include current degree-seeking students in the global campus pursuing degree programs and regular credit courses.

He added they are also reaching out to community and business users for personal and professional development information.

Also included are educational partners in K-12 Schools, community colleges, other universities and tribal communities.

VandenAvond outlined access initiative membership packages that allow the best fit any education and high-speed internet needs.
