Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio) – Peninsula Fiber Network, or PFN, is continuing with the implementation of a new network that routes 911 traffic on their new Next Generation 911 Call Management system.

Tim McKee, NG-911 Program Director for PFN, joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike recently to talk about the new system and how it benefits the U.P.

McKee said the system provides enhanced 911 service and also supports wireless device technologies and video in addition to traditional land-line calling for all 15 counties in the Upper Peninsula.

He added that the system technology replaces 30-40 year old technology to allow texting, photo or video distribution that did not exist when that system was developed.
