Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A capital campaign has begun to build a new Beacon House hospitality facility next to the new UP Health System-Marquette hospital.

At the Beacon House U.P. Celebrity Golf Classic this week in Marquette, U.P. native and former NFL head coach Steve Mariucci kicked off the “Legacy of Love” Capital Campaign Project.

Great Lake Radio News Director Walt Lindala spoke with Mariucci this week about the campaign.

Mariucci says they are seeking support over the next 6 to 8 months to determine if the financial support is there to build a new Beacon House next to the new hospital.

Estimates for a 60-room facility are nearly $6.4 million dollars.
