Marquette Women’s Center Receives Grant And Expands Service Locations

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Women’s Center in Marquette is receiving new grant funding through the the M.E. Davenport Foundation of Grand Rapids.

Beth Casady, Women’s Center Executive Director, joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to talk about the grant and share more news.

Casady said the $105,000 grant includes a $45,000 matching gift opportunity and will be used to fund their Harbor House shelter operations.

She also talked about the Women’s Center expanding their service locations to meet the needs of local communities.

Casady said beginning June 8th, staff will be on-site at Ishpeming Courthouse to provide outreach services for adult and child survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

On June 13th, the Women’s Center will begin offering the same services at the K.I. Sawyer Community Center once a week as well.
