Marquette Royales New Coach Talks Up Team And The New Season

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Last month, the Marquette Royales Hockey Club announced that Kevin Shupenia will take over as the new Head Coach/GM ofthe Marquette Royales, effective immediately.

    Shupenia was in Marquette recently and Great Lakes Radio’s Jim Parks got the opportunity to meet the new coach and get some insight into what’s instore for Royales fans this fall.

    Shupenia will have Jim Stanaway back on staff during the coming season as the Assistant and Goaltending Coach for the Royales.

    New to the teamstaff this season will be Bob Airaudi, in the position of Community Relations Director.

    According to Shupenia, “The organization believes it is very important to be part of the Marquette community and give back to those that support our organization – – so well. Bob is well involved in the Marquette community and we are thrilled to have him here.”

    Former Royales Head Coach Mike Stanaway will be behind the bench for the Marquette Electricians this coming season.

    Stanaway seized the opportunity to help get the struggling Electricians back to their former winning ways.
