City Of Marquette Arts & Culture Master Planning Process Nearing Completion

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The City of Marquette is continuing with the effort to develop a master plan for arts and culture for the city.

    The project, “Imagine Marquette – Defining a Vibrant Arts and Culture Community”, is the master planning process working to determine a new ten year Arts and Culture Master Plan.

    Master Planning Consultants Tom Borrup and Christine Harris visited the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today and explained that the process is nearing completion.

    Harris said that the final meeting of the Master Plan Steering Committee is today in Marquette and will result in further input that will be used in the constructing of the final plan.

    Borrup added that the response to the effort and all of it’s community surveys and public meetings has been strong and shows the importance of arts and culture to the Marquette community.

    The first master plan was written twenty years ago and the role of arts and culture in Marquette and the region has changed significantly.

    Borrup and Harris explained that the new master plan will will include recommendations and define the role of the City in implementing its plan.
