Severe Weather Coverage and School Closings brought to you by Pomp’s Tire in Marquette

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for all of the northern half of the U.P. until this afternoon. The National Weather Service says snow will develop this morning, then diminish into the afternoon with 1 to 4 inches by late this morning. The big issue is winds out of the northwest that will gust to 35 to 50 mph through this morning, creating considerable blowing snow. The strongest winds will occur near the Lake Superior shoreline. Expect very difficult driving conditions with areas of blowing snow. Travel conditions will be especially difficult in open areas along M-28 east of Marquette.
