Jayme Stone’s Lomax Project

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Northern Nights performing arts series at Northern Michigan University will present an unique and historical performance by Jayme Stone’s Lomax Project in Marquette on Thursday, February 11th.

Northern Nights Series Director Dan Truckey joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & mike today to preview the performance.

Truckey said the show will focus on traditional songs collected from around the country by folklorist and recording pioneer Alan Lomax.

He added that the collaboration brings together award-winning banjoist and composer Stone and some of North America’s most distinctive roots musicians to present this historic music in a modern style.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, in Reynolds Recital Hall on the NMU campus and advance tickets are available at all NMU Ticket Outlets or by calling 227-1032 or online at www.nmu.edu/tickets.
