MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A special day of music and more is coming up soon in Marquette to benefit two programs connected through the music of Sean Costello.

Tom Hyslop and Scott Syrjala joined The SUNNY Morning with Walt & Mike to promote “Kickin’ The Blues”, a day of live music, door prizes, silent auctions and more to benefit the Daniel Olson Memorial Scholarship Fund and The Sean Costello Fund For Bipolar Research.

The event will also work to educate the attendees about Bi-Polar Disease and how it affects those who live with it from day to day.  Sean Costello, a blues and R&B musician from Atlanta with a strong history and connection to the Marquette area,  and Daniel Olson, a young man from Ishpeming who was a star athlete both had bi-polar conditions that lead to their untimely deaths.

Tom and Scott explained how they came together to produce this event in Sean and Daniel’s names to remember them in a a positive way with a community-based musical event that will raise funds for two great causes.

The event will be at the Ore Dock Brewing Company on Saturday, May 25th from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m..  Music will include the groups: Jackpine, Flat Broke Blues Band, Travis Swanson & The Midnight Movers and Felix Reyes from Chicago, Illinois.  All proceeds raised will go to the two funds.
