    It’s a sloppy one out there with roads a mix of wet and heavy snow in some areas and just wet conditions elsewhere. Michigan State Police say roads across the U.P. are ranging from snow covered and icy to slushy and wet. Please drive carefully on your early commute.

    There are no school closings or delays today in Marquette or Alger Counties, but there are a few problems around the U.P. with icy roads. as a result, here are some school announcements for today:

    SCHOOL CLOSINGS FOR MONDAY 2/11/13:

    Carney-Nadeau

    Menominee

    North-Central

    Stephenson

    Tahquamenon Area

    Morning B-H-K Head Start for Houghton and Keweenaw Counties

    SCHOOL DELAYS FOR MONDAY 2/11/13:

    All Houghton and Keweenaw County schools are on a two-hour delay.

    Finlandia University offices in Hancock will open at 9:00 am. Classes will begin at 10:10 am.

    1. Thank you for the succinct weather report, Walt. I have always been tuned into public radio early in the morning. I don’t know who writes Nicole Walton’s weather copy such as “…it’s snowing Elswhere…” I havenn’t found “Elswhere” on the map yet. Time for a change, I will turn my dial to 101.9 FM in the future.

      Good job, as always, on “Media Meet” this weekend (2/9 & 2/10.) Thank you for your query on gun control. I think this was one of the better programs because you were allowed to participate significantly.
