Annual Native American Food Taster Coming This Weekend To Marquette, MI

    MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Native American Student Association at Northern Michigan University is hosting the 12th annual First Nations Food Taster this Friday on campus.

    Dr. Marty Reinhardt from the Center For Native American Studies joined The SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike to preview the dinner.

    Dr. Reinhardt says this year the Food Taster will feature recipes from the Decolonizing Diet Project as well as some contemporary Native American dishes.

    He also talked about the dinner being a “dish bag” event and what that means.

    The event is this Friday from 5-7 p.m. in the D.J. Jacobetti Complex Commons and is open to the public.
