Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Dead River Derby is hosting their final home bout of the season at Lakeview Arena on Saturday August 29th and it’s a double header!
Derby girls Pepper Pilliwinks and Phee Nix joined Sports Guy Mike Plourde on the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to talk about the bout, the season and the experience of being on the Dead River Derby squad.
They also explained that a portion of the proceeds of this bout will benefit the community shelter in Marquette known as Room at the Inn.
The girls said the first bout, where the Rolling Riptide takes on the Floral City Roller Girls of Monroe, MI, starts at 6:00 p.m. and will be followed immediately by the second bout where the Superior Sirens do battle with the Bath City Roller Girls of Macomb County.
Doors open at 5:00 p.m., tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door with children 12 and under free.
