Houghton, MIMonday, January 14th, 2019The Negaunee Miners faced the Hancock Bulldogs Monday night where they won on their home turf, 60-32. Jesse Anderson traveled to the Copper Country to bring all of the live action to 101.9 SunnyFM.

1st Half

The game began with Hancock winning the tip-off. Negaunee went on to get the early lead, putting up the first six points of the game unmatched. The Miners kept up a strong defense and an aggressive offense as they kept the lead for the quarter. The first quarter ended with a strong 16-3 Negaunee lead.

The second quarter was when the Miners really increased their lead. The Miners kept up the aggressive defense and hardly allowed Bulldog shots. The Miner offense was incredible for the quarter, ending the first half of the game with a whopping 32-10 lead.

2nd Half

The Miners came out of the locker room and increased the intensity for the third quarter. Again, the Miner defense was tough for the Bulldogs to break through, and the third ended with a huge Negaunee lead of 52-17.

The last quarter began at a bit of a standstill for Negaunee. The Bulldogs were able to increase their score a little bit, but it wasn’t enough to defeat the Miners. Negaunee played an incredible game with a great defense and offense, and took the win on their own court with a final score of 60-32. Go Miners!
