The Mountaineers had two key players to look out for as they led both teams with the scoring- Marcus Johnson and Foster Wonders. At the end of the first quarter the score was 20-7 with the Mountaineers leading the Miners. Negaunee had a little bit more of a spark in the second quarter and were able to close Iron Mountains lead a little bit. Jacob Ennett, Luke Mattson, and Jason Waterman all scored for the Miners in the second quarter. Jesse had said that Negaunee needed a big defensive stance set up because Iron Mountain had no problems making shots around the court. Jakson Sager, Miner, was doing a great job defending against Marcus Johnson as he forced him to miss a lot of shots. 28-17 was the score at half-time as the Mountaineers kept the lead.
