Negaunee, Michigan12/01/2017– The Girls stayed at their home court this Friday night as they took on the Manistique Emeralds for the second game of the season. The Miners played a great game that wound up with a running clock and at the end of it they came out 2-0. Brady Guilbault and Jesse Anderson were there to bring you all of the in-game action on Sunny.FM.

The game started off with a bang for the Miners as they won the tip and, after losing the ball, immediately stole it back to make the first points of the game. The Miners played great offensively and were very generous with the handling of the ball. 22-4 was the score at the end of the first with the Emeralds trailing our Miners. The second quarter followed the same trend set by the Miners as they kept their strong lead with 12 total steals and a score of 44-10 at halftime.

The second half of the game almost mimicked the first half as the Miners just kept on dominating both sides of the ball. Those ladies had great teamwork and great passes that just kept them up in the lead. By the end of the third quarter, the Miners had a whomping score of 66-14 over the Emeralds. The Miners had a total of 21 steals for the night! After the running clock and more swooshing by the lady Miners, the final score of the game was 76-18 with the Miners taking the win.

STATS:  21 total steals and 76 points for the team. 12 points, 2 rebounds, 6 steals, 3 assists for Clara Johnson. 12 points, 4 rebounds, 6 steals, 3 assists for Natalie Bartle. 10 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist for Hannah Voskuhl. 9 points, 1 steal for MacKenzie Karki. 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 assist for Abby Nelson. 6 points for Chloe Norman. 6 points, 2 steals for Jenna Sager. 4 points for Payton Drew. 2 points for Ielee Shiroda and Ally Jacobson. 5 points for Lynsee Dempsey.
