The Emeralds continued to struggle against the Miners’ pressure, and it showed up in the turnover column of the stat sheet.  With 5:15 left in the second quarter, the Emeralds were yet to score a single field goal.  Hailey Fezatt had a very impressive first half off of the bench for coach Sager’s squad, scoring seven points and netting herself five rebounds.  After the Emeralds knocked in a free-throw and a low post bucket to cut the lead to 13, a set of threes from seniors Courtney Clickner & Adena Anderson doomed any hope of a Manistique comeback in this one.  Negaunee continued to dominate the Emeralds to increase their lead to 24-5 at the half.

The second half was coast mode for the Miners.  Freshman point guard Clara Johnson hit a pair of three pointers over the course of the third quarter, and senior Ashley Tresedder’s intense defense earned her a pair of steals, three rebounds, and seven points.  In a game that saw everybody score, the Negaunee Miners girls basketball team advances to the District 94 Championship game once again!
