The Negaunee Miners defeated the Charlevoix Rayder on Sunny.FM 10/31/14
The Miners played their most complete game of the season last Friday, can they put it all together against the 10-0 Ramblers?

NEGAUNEE, MI – 11/3/2014 – Coming off of their impressive 21-12 victory over the 6-3 Charlevoix Rayders, the Negaunee Miners will travel to the other end of Charlevoix Lake this Friday Night for a match-up with the undefeated Boyne City Ramblers.  The Miners were able to put it all together in Charlevoix as the defense played with excitement and the offense executed well.  Senior running back Ryan Bischoff ran like a man possessed as he carried the ball 25 times for 118 yards and two touchdowns.  They’ll need to play with the same fire this Friday as they’ll travel downstate once again.

The Negaunee Miners and Boyne City Ramblers at the Superior Dome in Marquette on Sunny.FM - Friday, November 8th, 2013
The Miners took last year’s contest in the Superior Dome by the score of 42-19. What will round two bring on Friday on SunnyFM?

This is a rematch from the 2013’s version of Division-6 playoff football.  In last year’s contest, the Miners took advantage of a young Boyne City team.  A Ramblers team that featured a lot of juniors who weren’t up to Negaunee’s senior-laden level.  Boyne City lost last year’s game on mental mistakes.  A very talented Miners team struggled with Boyne City through one and a half quarters, and will now face this version of the Ramblers, who are undoubtedly looking for revenge.

For Negaunee to win this contest and advance to the quarterfinals for the third consecutive season, they’ll need to replicate the play they had in Charlevoix.  The three-headed monster in the backfield of Harsila, Bischoff, and Johnson will need to be at their best and follow their blocks set up by the linemen, who will need to fire off the ball hard.  They’ll also need to stay disciplined.  While the Miners have definitely cut down on the mental mistakes, they still make a few here and there.  They had a silly personal foul penalty in Charlevoix that pushed the Miners out of the red zone, and two offside penalties.  That is going to be the key to the Miners defensively.  Stay disciplined and do their job.  If Negaunee can do all of that, then “Varsity” will be played in Boyne City this Friday night.

Be sure to join Jesse Anderson & Brady Guilbault this Friday Night for all of your Negaunee Miners football playoff action.  Pregame will begin at 6:30pm with a 7pm kickoff, right here on Sunny FM.  GO MINERS!
