Miner Breakaway For a Touchdown

Gldstone, MI – Join me tonight, as the Negaunee Miners to travel to Gladstone to take on the Braves in a heated UP football battle.  The Miners are coming off of an impressive 38-16 victory over an upstart Calumet team.  Tyler LaJoie led the way for the Miners tallying up three touchdowns on runs of 60-, 18-, & 1-yard(s) respectively.  Tyler Windahl & Ryan Syrjala each added a touchdown of their own in the contest giving the Miners a victory.  While the score shows a lob-sided affair, the game was pretty evenly contested.  Negaunee only out-gained Calumet 355-344 in total offensive yards, and actually ran fewer plays than the Copper Kings.  Unfortunately for Calumet, they turned the ball over three times inside the Negaunee 30-yardline on two fumbles and one interception.

Tonight the Miners travel to Gladstone to face the Braves in another non-conference rivalry.  The Gladstone-Negaunee rivalry has been a fairly intense game that both teams look forward to each year.  Since 2008 this rivalry has been entertaining for coaches, players, fans, and schools.  If you tallied the scores of all of the games since the start of the 2008 season, the Miners only have a slight edge over the Braves 122-111.  If these two teams aren’t jacked up to play one-another, than there is some serious lack of school spirit in Negaunee & Gladstone.

Please join my partner Jesse Anderson & myself tonight for all of your Negaunee Miner football action.  Kickoff is at 7pm and pregame is at 6:30EST.  You can only catch it at 101.9 on SunnyFM or stream it live on Sunny.FM.  GO MINERS!
