Morning Bus Tours
Mondays and Fridays, July 2 to August 24

Would you like to get more out of your trip to Seney National Wildlife Refuge? Some wildlife can be difficult to see, but trained staff and volunteers know where to look or listen. Join us Monday and Friday mornings from July 2nd to August 24th at 10:00 am to experience a guided tour of the Refuge. The tour will take about 2 ½ hours depending on the topic of the tour. We will be on the lookout for a variety of wildlife while sharing information on the animals we see, the history of the refuge and current management practices.

Please meet inside the Visitor Center to coordinate vehicles, pick up binoculars, and begin the tour. The Visitor Center opens at 9:00 am. Space is limited in refuge vehicles and is available on a first come first served basis.

Visitors will be delighted to see common loons, trumpeter swans, Canada geese, muskrat, beaver and a variety of other interesting animals. On this tour we will use not only our eyes but our ears as we journey through the refuge listening to the calls of frogs, American bittern and other common animals that cannot always be seen but frequently heard.

Wildlife Wednesday Bus Tours
Wednesday Nights June through August

Wildlife Wednesday Tourists and locals alike love this tour! Join us Wednesday evenings in June, July and August for an evening guided auto tour of portions of the refuge’s Marshland Wildlife Drive and backcountry roads. The tour begins at 7 p.m. and lasts approximately two hours. We’ll be on the lookout for a variety of wildlife while sharing Refuge history and management practices.
Hitch a Ride.

Please meet inside the Visitor Center to coordinate vehicles, pick up binoculars, and begin the tour. The Visitor Center reopens at 6:30 p.m. on tour days to accommodate guests. Space in refuge vehicles is available first come first served. Once the refuge vehicles are full radios are handed out to the public and they are welcomed to follow along in their personal vehicles.

People wishing to drive their own vehicles who are joining the tour will be required to wash potential seed sources from their vehicles before being allowed to go behind closed gates. The refuge has a site where vehicles can be washed down before the tour. You can help us start on time by visiting a car wash before you come to the refuge for the tour or show up at least 15 minutes before departure and request a wash down. Simply ask at the front desk in the Visitor Center for assistance in this matter. This procedure is meant to help stop the potential spread of invasive species.
