Marquette, Michigan — Mary Kramer-Rabine, who together with her husband Dan Rabine operate the Reh-Morr Farm in Eben,  joined Todd Pazz on the 8th Day Radio Show to discuss a class she and Treasa Sowa will be having March 15th at 6:30p at the the Marquette Missionary Church at 1804 Wright St.  The class, part of the Growing Your Food in the U.P. Gardening Series sponsored by Transition Marquette County, will a beginner level primer on food handling and food safety for home gardens.

The importance of learning about food borne illnesses and how to handle and prepare produce carefully to reduce risk were emphasized during the interviews, as well as the value of becoming certified by the state in food safety.  The “Growing Your Food in the U.P.” gardening series is open to everyone.

This class session, entitled, “Playin’ It Safe With Your Garden Produce” will be co-presented by Treasa Sowa and Mary Kramer-Rabine. ” Treasa and Mary will share innovative tips and techniques which home gardeners can use to safely harvest and prepare their garden produce.”
