Marquette, MINovember 4th, 2017 – The special election for Michigan’s 109th Congressional District is almost here, and before you go to the ballot box, Republican candidate Rich Rossway is here with Todd Pazz on The 8th Day to talk about his platform.

Rossway is running against Democratic candidate Sara Cambensy for the seat in the Michigan House of Representatives that was vacated by John Kivela’s suicide in early May.  He plans on searching for a bipartisan answer for many of the problems that Michigan’s state government is facing, and promises to work on both sides of the aisle if he is elected.

A central issue of Rossway’s campaign has been getting more jobs into the U.P., one that has proven popular with both Republicans and Democrats.  During the interview, he raised concerns over the fact that U.P. schools are understaffed. Rossway has witnessed this firsthand as a member of the Marquette school board, having served 17 years as a member and 5 as school board president.

Rossway is an Army veteran, and is currently the Vice Chairman of the City of Marquette Brownfield Redevelopment Authority, and and member of the Smart Zone LDFA Board.  These positions, plus his time living in the Upper Peninsula, make him a strong candidate for state representative.

More information on Rossway can be found on his website.
