Green Cove Springs, FL – February 10, 2016 – From 1894 to 1973, the Clay County Jail housed murderers, mentally ill, drunks, and every offense in between. Although it no longer houses any real prisoners, there are some good photo ops with the potential escapees and perhaps some other photo ops of the paranormal type.
Televised on Ghost Hunters and Local Haunts, the jail is a popular venue for paranormal investigators on weekends. During the week, the restored jailer’s quarters holds the Clay County Archives where you can learn more about the mysterious characters that creep through the night, or have the archivist help you discover little know facts about your ancestry.
