42nd annual Gem and Mineral Show.

Marquette, MIAugust 2, 2017 – Precious and beautiful minerals, fossils, gems, and jewelry will be on display and for purchase at the 42nd Annual Gem and Mineral Show at the Ishpeming Elks Club from 9:30am-4:30 pm.

The Gem and Mineral Show is a family affair and has free admission. There will be a kids’ area, a silent auction throughout the day, gems, minerals, fossils, and jewelry.

Enter to win some fantastic door prizes that will be given away every hour. There will be a variety of vendors coming from Lower Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, and Kentucky. They will be selling items such as rock lampshades, European Jade jewelry, wind chimes, bookends, agate slabs, and mining stock certificates.

5, 10, and 25 cent specimens will be available in the kids’ area and also a tumbler drawing for the children!

Evening activities start at 7 pm with a live auction of donated items, a program on ‘U.P. Minerals’, and a raffle drawing.

Lauren has been with GLR for a few years now and does all of the new graphic materials for the websites. She is also a professional photographer and covers most of Great Lakes Radio events

No matter what event, Lauren will probably be there putting her camera in people's faces! Make sure to smile!

Lauren shoots predominately with a Nikon D7000 equip with 18-55mm and 55-200mm lenses, as well as a Tokina 11-16mm and an 8mm Rokinon Fisheye! Occasionally Lauren will shoot with a Canon Rebel T3i equip with 18-55mm and 75-300mm lenses.
