02/19/14 West Ishpeming, Michigan- Carl Leander Johnson the voice of the Negaunee Miners and Jesse Anderson were in West Ispheming, Michigan tonight to bring you an exciting basketball game as the Negaunee Miners Boys Basketball team went up against the Westwood Patriots on Sunny.FM.

The Negaunee Miners won the tip off and were first to score in the game against the Westwood Patriots. Westwood would tie the score at two apiece 40 seconds into the game. Both teams battled back and forth for the lead in the first few minutes of the game, but with five minutes left in the first quarter the Miners led 12-8 against the Patriots on Sunny.FM. With two minutes left in the quarter the Negaunee Miners pulled away with a 16-9 lead against the Westwood Patriots.  Tyler Jandron was on fire hitting shot after shot propelling the Miners to a 22-9 lead at the end of the first quarter on Sunny.FM!

Negaunee came into the second quarter on fire and scored a quick four points to lead the Westwood 26-9. With six minutes left in the second quarter the Negaunee Miners took a 20 point lead against the Westwood Patriots 31-11.  After some great defensive plays from Tyler Jandron and Eric Lori, including one that ended in an alley-oop score, the Miners were able to take complete control of the game.  Leading 43-14, they went into halftime with a very comfortable lead over the Westwood Patriots on Sunny.FM!

The Miners went into the third quarter and scored a very quick six points to lead the Patriots 49-14. With five minutes left in the quarter the Negaunee Miners completely dominated the court and led 54-14 against the Westwood Patriots and invoked the “running clock”. With four minutes left in the game the Coach O’Donnell put in his subs to give the starters a much deserved rest up 56-14 in Westwood.  The third quarter of basketball action ended with the Miners maintaining a huge lead against the Westwood Patriots 56-19 in West Ishpeming, Michigan.

The Westwood Patriots were first to score in the fourth quarter to trail 56-21 with a running clock against the Negaunee Miners. The Patriots were able to score a few more baskets against the Negaunee to pull within 30 five minutes left in the game. The Miners would get their first points of the quarter with just under a two minutes left in the game with a Michael Anderson free-throw and led 57-26.  After a basket by Logan Streeter and another free-throw, the Negaunee Miners Boys Basketball team won this game against the Westwood Patriots on Sunny.FM!

The Negaunee Miners defeat the Westwood Patriots 60-29 in West Ishpeming, Michigan.

Leading the way for your Negaunee Miners tonight was Tyler Jandron (25pts on 11/13 shooting, 5stls, 3reb, 2assts, blk).  Also chipping in a great game were fellow seniors Eric Lori (10pts, 8assts, 2reb, stl) and Zane Radloff (9pts, 5reb, 2stls, 2blks).
