Negaunee Miners Boys Basketball vs Ishpeming Hematites on Sunny.FM. 02/07/14

02/07/14 Ishpeming, Michigan- Carl Johnson the voice of the Negaunee Miners and his partner Jesse Anderson were in Ishpeming, Michigan tonight to bring you an exciting basketball game as the Negaunee Miners Boys Basketball go up against the Ishpeming Hematites on Sunny.FM.

The Negaunee Miners Boys Basketball team won the tip and scored the first points of the game to lead 2-0 against the Ishpeming Hematites.  With 5 minutes left of play the Negaunee Miners gain a 3 point shot and led the Ishpeming Hematites 8-3. The Ishpeming Hematites were quick to answer with a 3 point shot of their own and trailed the Negaunee Miners 8-6.  With 3 minutes left in the quarter, the Ishpeming Hematites tied the score 8-8 on Sunny.FM. The Ispheming Hematites took their first lead of the night against the Negaunee Miners 10-8 with 2 minutes left in the quarter. The first quarter of play ended with Negaunee Miners trailing the Ishpeming Hematites 16-13 in Ishpeming, Michigan.

The Negaunee Miner Boys were first to score with 6 minutes left in the quarter to trail 16-15 against the Ishpeming Hematites. Halfway through the second quarter the Negaunee Miners still trailed the Ishpeming Hematites 18-17 on Sunny.FM. The Negaunee Miners regained the lead against the Ishpeming Hematites 19-18 with 3 minutes left in the first half of play.  After an Eric Lori missed three pointer, Tyler Jandron stole the ball with 1.9 second left and hit a three pointer as the buzzer sounded to give the Miners a 29-23 lead over Ishpeming at halftime.

team. The Negaunee Miners maintained their lead over the Ishpeming Hematites 34-28 with 4 minutes left in the quarter. The Ishpeming Hematites narrowed the Negaunee Miners lead to 34-32 with 3 minutes left in the quarter. The Ishpeming Hematites regained the lead against the Negaunee Miners 35-34 late in the quarter. The Negaunee Miners Boys Basketball team took back the lead at the end of the third quarter 37-36 against the Ishpeming Hematites.

The Negaunee Miners would be first to score after two minutes of play and led the Ishpeming Hematites 38-36. Both teams would share the lead for next few minutes of the game, but the Negaunee Miners would pull ahead with a 4 point lead 43-39 against the Ishpeming Hematites with four minutes left in the game. The Negaunee Miners Boys Basketball team were victorious over the Ishpeming Hematites 52-43 tonight on Sunny.FM.n

Negaunee was led by their two stars tonight in Tyler Jandron & Eric Lori who scored 21 & 22 points respectively.  Alex Briones was able to score 18 points, but only shot 5/20 on the night due to Tyler Jandron’s tenacious defense.
