MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Today is Election Day across the country and voters are headed to the polls to decide a multitude of races and issues ranging from President of the United States all the way down to local ballot proposals.

In Michigan, voters will determine the fate of six statewide ballot proposals, who will serve as Michigan’s Junior U.S. Senator in Washington, D.C and who will be serving on the State Supreme Court.

Closer to home, voters in Northern Michigan will be choosing their Representative for the 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House. Voters across the region will also be selecting their choices for State House Representatives in Lansing.  Several local races, millage requests and ballot initiatives are also being voted on.

All regular polling places will be open today from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time.
