Noun: Pachyderm  (PAK-ih-derm)

Definition: Any of various non-ruminant mammals (such as an elephant, a rhinoceros, or a hippopotamus)  that have hooves or nails resembling hooves and usually thick skin; especially, an elephant.

Example sentence: My favorite pachyderm is a fictional one in Dr. Seuss’s “Horton Hears a Who.”
