Health Tip – Oct. 2 – A Whiter Smile at Home

911

For a whiter smile at home, there are some things that you might already have in your cupboard to help take away the stains and yellowing on your teeth.

Baking soda is a great tooth polish and whitener. It may take up to a month to see results, but since most whitening toothpastes have baking soda in them, it makes sense to use something you already have on hand and it’s cheaper, too.

Olive oil is another great way to whiten teeth, especially if you are a smoker or drink lots of coffee or tea. Put a little on a washcloth and buff those teeth for a few minutes every day.

Hydrogen peroxide is one of the main ingredients in whitening rinses and whitening strips. Put one ounce in your mouth and swish for 3 to 5 minutes every morning and every night. The results are similar to those costly rinses and strips for a fraction of the cost.
