Event Organizer, Amy Harju

Event Organizer Amy Harju, a transplant recipient herself, is committed to making this kind of event a statewide community model. Harju says while many people are aware of the importance of donating life-saving organs, they really don’t understand how traumatic the transplant process can be on individuals and families. She says even if people have great insurance there are still huge costs associated with the transplant process. From travel expenses to Mayo Clinic or Madison, Wisconsin for transplant surgery, to hotel accommodations, to prescription drugs… the whole goal is to be able to provide some financial support to help alleviate some of the stress incurred during the transplant process.

Skate for Life is a big deal! Invite your family, friends and acquaintances from all over the U.P. Come out and support the Royales this weekend as they host the Wisconsin Rampage for a 3-game series and raise funds for the first-ever Skate for Life Event Friday and Saturday nights.
